Nel GP del Cile due fantastici podi nella E1 per il team HM-Honda Zanardo
I piloti del Team HM-Honda Zanardo Rodrig Thain e Simone Albergoni sono stati i grandi protagonisti del Gran Premio del Cile disputato sabato 24 e domenica 25 marzo a Talca, grazie ad una gara magistrale giocata con intelligenza, strategia, determinazione e volontà nell’inseguire i gradini del podio.
In sella alle loro Honda-HM CRE F250R, i due alfieri del Team HM-Honda Zanardo hanno dettato legge nella E1.
Thain sabato ha vinto subito le prime tre speciali, poi si è purtroppo giocato la vittoria nella lunga ed impegnativa prova in linea che ha in parte falsato i risulti agonistici: molti piloti locali sono caduti ostruendo il percorso impedendo così il passaggio di chi li seguiva. Stessa sfortunata sorte anche per Albergoni. Thain non si è comunque scoraggiato, riuscendo nelle ultime speciali a recuperare il tempo perso fino a centrare una strepitosa seconda posizione. Il francese ha nuovamente brillato la domenica concludendo sul terzo gradino del podio, complice una scivolata proprio all’ultima speciale estrema.
Penalizzato dal caos creatosi sabato nella speciale in linea, che lo ha costretto ad una decima posizione un po’ stretta, Albergoni domenica si è letteralmente scatenato migliorando le proprie performance speciale dopo speciale, fino a fare sua una più che meritata seconda posizione.
Buon debutto nella EJ per il giovane svedese Karl Svensson con la Honda-HM CRE F250R. Per lui la prima tappa del mondiale si chiude con un sesto posto il sabato e un’undicesima piazza la domenica, anche lui penalizzato dalle difficoltà a superare alcuni avversari nell’ormai contestatissima speciale in linea.
Dopo l’ottimo risultato di questo primo GP del Campionato Mondiale Enduro 2012, il Team HM-Honda Zanardo replicherà subito il prossimo weekend in Argentina a San Juan.

Sabato sono partito bene vincendo subito le prime tre speciali, poi nella linea ho perso parecchio tempo perché mi sono trovato il percorso sbarrato da piloti che mi cadevano davanti o si erano messi di traverso con le loro moto. Alla fine ho finito terzo e questo risultato è il frutto dell’ottimo lavoro svolto con la squadra. Sono davvero molto motivato e soddisfatto delle scelte fatte con i tecnici durante il lavoro invernale.SIMONE ALBERGONI
Sabato ero veramente demoralizzato: non si può compromettere una gara perché ti si fermano davanti i piloti locali. Sarebbe bastato far partire questi piloti alle spalle dei piloti che disputano il mondiale. Domenica sono partito subito forte senza mai tirarmi indietro ed ho fatto mia una bella seconda posizione. In parte sono contento, ma spero proprio di fare meglio già dalla prossima gara.FRANCO MAYR, Team Manager
Sapevamo che venendo qui avremmo potuto incontrare qualche problema. E così è stato. La speciale in linea del sabato ha falsato parecchi risultati in quanto basta guardare e analizzare le varie classifiche. Agonisticamente Thain e Albergoni sono stati bravissimi, dimostrando di potersi costantemente inserire nelle primissime posizioni. Sono convinto che sapranno darci delle grosse emozioni.

The HM Honda Zanardo Team Is Ready For A New Challenge In The 2012 World Enduro Championship
This weekend will see the start of the Enduro World Championship 2012 and, while memories of the unforgettable great champion Mika Ahola are still very close to the hearts of the team, the HM-Honda Zanardo squad looks forward to introducing the team that will take part in this new season in the E1 and EJ Class with the HM-Honda CRE F250R and the “Under 19” World Cup.
It’s great to announce that the important relationship is renewed with the support of HM Moto, Honda Europe and Zanardo, along with some new partnerships, which will work together to contest the most important motorcycle enduro championship, with the best riders in the world and with the presence of all the major manufacturers.
HM-Honda Zanardo Team riders will be: in E1 Class the Italian Simone Albergoni and the French Rodrig Thain. Albergoni comes back into the team with which in 2004 and 2006 he became two times E1 vice-world champion with the HM-Honda 250 4T. Last year Thain finished the season with a fourth place always in the E1 Class.
For the second year, the two Swedish riders Kalle Sjoo and Calle Svensson will take part to the Junior Championship with the CRE F300R and the CRE F250R. The Belgian rider Thierry Wansart will race with the CRE F450R in some rounds of the World Championship E2 Class.

In the “Under 19” World Cup there will be the two young riders from Piacenza, Nicolò Bruschi and Andrea Castellana. Bruschi and Castellana will not take part to the first two races of Chile and Argentina, as permitted by regulations.
HM-HONDA ZANARDO Team’s first official outing will be this weekend at the Grand Prix of Chile, scheduled on March 24th and 25th in Talca, and the Grand Prix of Argentina, on the following weekend, on March 31st and April 1st in San Juan. The bikes have already been shipped to Chile and will be taken over by the team on Monday 19th, when HM-HONDA ZANARDO Team, led by Team Manager Franco Mayr, will land at Santiago de Chile airport. The next step will be to reach Talca, about 250 km away, in the south. This will see the official start the 2012 Enduro World Championship.
