QUEST'ANNO E' ANDATA COSI'

Alex Salvini and Honda-Zanardo Team World Vice-Champions in E2 Class

Alex Salvini’s great test on Saturday 12th and Sunday 14th at Brioude in the GP of France, seventh and last race of the 2014 Enduro World Championship. The rider from Bologna of the Honda-Zanardo team gained two fantastic second places at the end of two days where he graduated as vice-champion of the E2 class.

Riding his Honda CFR 450R supplied by RedMoto, Honda’s Italian distributor, and tuned by Honda-Zanardo Team of Piacenza, Salvini could have won the first day if he hadn’t fell down two times. In the last fall, during the extreme trial, he lost about fifty seconds before being able to start again after having repaired somehow the damaged parts of his bike. Anyway Salvini has always registered the best times winning also the “special” on Friday.

On Saturday Alessandro Battig achieved a very positive fourth place in the EJ class. But on Sunday he fell down during the in line race and he was obliged to withdraw.

 ALEX SALVINI (E2 #9 class)

“The away race here in France started very well; on friday I won the prelude special race. But on Saturday, because of the three falls and some other small errors, I compromised the final result even if I finished second. On Sunday I managed to reduce Renet’s advantage compared to the times of the specials of the first day. He has always had an extra oomph in the E2 class compared to all of us. I gave my best but I made two errors that made me lose further seconds and I had to be content with the second step of the podium”.

 ALESSANDRO BATTIG (EJ #83 class)

“My result has been disappointing because, after the fourth position on saturday, I aimed to the podium in the second day. So, on sunday, I started fast but during the first special in line I fell down feeling confused and I preferred to stop for my safety. It has been a pity; I hope to be able to make a better race during the last test of the Italian Absolute at the end on the month in Edolo”.

 FRANCO MAYR-Honda- Zanardo’s Team manager -

“We are satisfied with Salvini’s race who gained the second position in the E2 class after the many misadventures he suffered in the first part of the season. In Brioude Salvini has demonstrated to be in form but he found a super rennet who was really very capable to understand how to race at the best in the two special races on the grass and the in line race in the wood. Battig, even if he confirmed his great qualities finishing fourth on saturday, he misses experience and consequently he could have avoided some falls. Days like the ones spent in Brioude give us motivations and optimism and we go on working all together with the RedMoto and our partners to achieve new important goals”
